A faster, friendlier home for an education nonprofit
A redesign and rebuild focused on accessibility, donations and pages volunteers can edit.
The challenge
Brightpath runs after-school tutoring in six cities. Their site was slow, hard to use on phones and could only be updated by one volunteer who knew the old CMS. Donations came in mostly by post.
What we did
One team from scope to launch. The stack behind it:
Accessible from the start
We designed to WCAG 2.2 AA, tested with screen readers and kept reading levels low, since many visitors are parents reading in a second language.
Donations that take a minute
A short donation flow with monthly giving, wallets and gift aid replaced a downloadable form.
Pages volunteers can edit
City teams update their own pages, schedules and stories from a simple editor with guardrails on layout.
The outcome
The new site launched in six weeks, before the autumn term. Online donations doubled in the first term and city teams now keep their own pages up to date.
“Volunteers can update the site themselves now, and donations doubled in the first term.”
